Sexual Health

The World Health Organization defines sexual health as a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination, and violence.

At St Clare’s we are available to discuss any issues regarding sexual health. We remain open minded and committed to guiding our patients on any sexual health issues.

Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the inner lining of the womb(endometrium) is found elsewhere, usually in the pelvis around the womb, ovaries and fallopian tubes. It is a very common condition, affecting around 1 in 10 women. You are more likely to develop endometriosis if your mother or sister has had it.

Many women suffer from pelvic pain which may be attributed to other conditions aside from endometriosis. It has been shown that women suffering from pelvic pain, regardless of the cause, go on suffering for years until they find the cause of it.

Dr Max Brincat has spent many years working with endometriosis teams in the UK and is passionate about providing women suffering with such problems holistic care. We appreciate that management can be in the form of many different approaches and will aim to tailor it towards the patient. We are also trained in tailoring the investigations to give the best chance of detecting and managing the cause of your symptoms.

Gynaecology Scanning

At St Clare’s we believe in maintaining the highest standards in scanning by continuously updating our scan machines. We provide a full range of ultrasound scanning in gynaecology and early pregnancy. Ultrasound scanning has become a gold standard imaging method when investigating gynaecological problems.

We are able to offer both two and three-dimensional scans including colour and power Doppler studies.

General Gynaecology

General gynaecology clinics run through out the week with our specialists in providing consultations on a range of issues. From regular cervical screening and well woman’s clinic to any other specific problem.
